Jim Carrey is being courted by Universal to pull on the costume of Colonel Stars in the upcoming Kick-Ass sequel. The character helps Kick-Ass round up a team of misfit superhoes to try and stop wannabe villain Red Mist from, well, kicking Kick-Ass’s ass (and other horrible stuff).




Carrey is known to be a big fan of Matthew Vaughn’s off the hook super-hero movie, so this might very well happen. And if you think this is just the silliest idea, think Nicolas Cage, and think again.

Now a couple of weeks ago I posted a trailer for a movie I love: Das Experiment, a German production by director Oliver Hirschbiegel. See it here

An american version will be released this year, directed by Prison Break writer Paul Scheuring it will feature Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood and Clifton Collins Jr. ( Capote, Traffic ).

Once again the 1971 Stanford Prison Project Experiment will unfold before us: a group of volonteers, cast either as prisoners or as guards payed to act the part for two weeks, night and day, giving up their constitutionnal rights. They end up playing the world’s most sadistic RPG… Duh.

I’m not sure this can live  up to the very high standards the first version raised. We’ll see. What do you reckon?
